Pets today are struggling to stay healthy despite over-vaccination, processed foods, antibiotics and medications that harm the immune system, and toxic drugs to kill parasites ... and many pets fail.
Millions of pet owners are turning to natural care and starting to really take an active role in deciding what's best for their pets -- and we want to support them!
About Dr. Carrie Donahue
Dr. Carrie's passion for holistic veterinary medicine has been with her from the beginning. She has a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Minnesota and worked for years for the US Forest Service conducting wildlife research before deciding to follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian. After graduating with a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine through the University of Wisconsin, she immediately sought training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and Reiki in order to provide integrative medical care to her patients. She received certification in veterinary acupuncture through the Chi Institute in Florida, under direction of Dr. Huisheng Xie.

After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Carrie started her career working at a traditional urgent care practice downtown Milwaukee, which gave her a solid foundation in conventional and emergency medicine. With the invaluable mentorship and support of Dr. Gursharan Singh, she was able to begin to incorporate acupuncture and Chinese medicine into her caseload, and the benefits of an integrative approach to patient health became abundantly clear.

Since Madison was home, Dr. Carrie began to look for positions locally that allowed the practice of integrative veterinary medicine in the way that she believed most benefited animals, but that position was not to be found. Unwilling to sacrifice her beliefs or patient well-being in order to bring money into a practice, she decided it was time to start her own business and begin to offer healing care that she was passionate about-- and Full Circle Veterinary Care was born in 2011.

Now Dr. Carrie is able to offer holistic care for companion animals using the most natural and effective tools to keep pets healthy and to help them to heal when they're not. She strongly believes in helping to support the body through good nutrition and gentle maintenance, limiting exposure to chemicals and toxins and over-vaccination, while still preventing disease and parasitism.

Dr. Carrie is a Madison area native, and grew up on a small farm in the Vermont Valley outside of Mt. Horeb. This landscape shaped the person that she is and the veterinarian that she has become. She currently lives in Madison with her 11 year old daughter, two rescued kitties, and her rescued chiweenie, Poppy.

Dr. Carrie with Seamus, the amazing 3-legged cattle dog who is no longer with us, but will never be forgotten -- his spirit, enthusiasm and willingness to be a pin-cushion as she was learning acupuncture made him a soul-dog and example of truly unconditional love.
