We can help you navigate the difficult waters of pet loss, right to the very end. We understand that even the question of body care afterwards can be a difficult decision, and we hope to help you with kind and compassionate counseling before your pet’s passing to ensure that we understand your wishes. We have several options for aftercare, including cremation, which we coordinate directly with Midwest Cremation Services. If you have any specific items that you would like to travel with your pet through the process that is just fine, and let us know.
You may choose a loving home burial for your pet. We suggest that you check with your local city or county regarding their regulations and the legality of home burial. We also encourage you to have the burial site prepared and ensure that the site is at least 4 ½-5 feet deep.
Having the burial site prepared beforehand allows you to have more time for memorializing and honoring your pet at the time of euthanasia.
With this cremation option, we will transport your pet personally to the cremation facility. Your pet will be with other pets and not separated. When communal cremation is chosen, you will not receive a return of your pet's ashes. Ashes are respectfully spread over peaceful Southern Wisconsin acreage owned by Midwest Cremation Services. You will have the option of a clay paw print impression which is returned to you as a memorial item.
If you choose private cremation, your pet will be cremated privately and individually. You will receive your pet's ashes back in a couple of week's time. A cherry wood urn is included that will have a brass plate with your pet's name. We will contact you when we have the urn to arrange a time to pick up from our location on the west side of Madison. You may also choose to have everything sent directly to you from the cremation service for a shipping fee of $15. A clay paw print impression may be added to this service and returned to you as well.
