On Tuesday, March 5th I said goodbye to a dog whose soul priority in life seemed to be watching over me. Losing you feels like Peter Pan when he lost his shadow. I know I went to pick out a puppy that day but in reality, you chose me. Thank you. One could not ask for a better friend or more loyal protector. You trusted very few men which allowed me to choose the best husband I could ask for. You took on the role of big brother to our 4 children with great honor and resounding commitment. I know that even in death your protection over this family will never cease. We love you with all our hearts. We hope you are breathing easy, have the healthiest heart, get the zoomies often, run figure 8’s daily, leap through talk grass, bounce like a bunny through snow, find the best bones to chomp on, play chase, tug of war, fetch, and catch whatever it was you were always chasing in your dreams. Dad and I will continue to say, “See you soon bud” when we leave the house without you and look for you when we return. I will continue to take you on runs with me and will always save a spot on my yoga mat for you. The kids will continue to read to you and keep Ele the elephant and Leo the lion company for you.
