I could write a whole book about our memories together.
For those who would like to read our story;

I was still living back home and working at the vet when we bonded while you were boarded for 38days, waiting for your old owner but he unfortunately couldn’t take you back. Little did I know taking you home, would save us both. We learned that you and Ella Mae were too stubborn to get along all the time, but we sure did try our best to make memories together. We went on many hikes, and many walks in Chicago. My favorite of us is when I took you and Ella to see the Christmas lights at Millennium Park I then decided it was time for a new chapter, and you pushed through the big move up here to WI with me and your little sister Kaya Gene. It wasn’t easy at first, but you were so brave and when I finally could bring you home, it was your home. The top of the steps, your perch, was where you waited every day for me to come home. If it wasn’t me that walked through the door, you were right back to napping. And you were the napping queen.
Before you took lots of naps, I would drive you around the Madison area for hikes and even go to dad’s fishing tournaments.
I made you take lots of pictures, and even costumes. My favorite is your Jedi.
After a couple years, you really didn’t care to leave the house, so we would go for walks around the neighborhood. I remember when I thought I could ride a bike and you walk along side it, until a dog barked at us and you almost pulled me off the bike. Our walks got shorter and shorter, but you never stopped wanting to go outside. Dad built you a ramp to help make going in and out easier but that eventually got difficult too. Although your hips were getting worse, you always loved the snow and cold the most. I loved shoveling you paths in the yard to go potty, even though you would always go off path.
You loved our beautiful neighbor Michelle, just as much as you loved pooping in her yard While mom was gone, Michelle, grandma and dad would care for you. You always waited for me to come home, whether it was a day of work, a weekend for a horse show or 3 weeks in Florida. I loved watching you get so excited to see me, it never got old. I loved watching your old lady zoomies just as much, you always made sure you put on a good show for a treat.
I did my best to give you the best day, ‘Lexi’s Day’. I made you scrambled eggs, chicken and a Culvers butter burger with cheese meal, and even chocolate custard. You were surrounded by the people who love you most, on your bed with your blankets and toys, getting all the pets and love when you gained your wings. I always hoped you’d know how loved you are, and promised to make our “see you later” as stress free as I could. I miss hearing your nails on the kitchen floor, following me into the bathroom and everywhere else, and every little thing that made you my Lexi.
Thank you for being my best friend the last 4 years and 9 months and for your unconditional love. I will find you in the next life.
