It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished wirehaired spaniel mix, Ollie, who left us on May 13, 2025, at the age of 11. Born on December 10, 2013, Ollie possessed a youthful spirit that belied his years. He remained a playful and spry companion throughout his life, bringing boundless energy and joy into our home.

Ollie was a character, to say the least. He had a wonderfully ornery streak, especially when it came to choosing his preferred spot (and human) on the couch. Despite his little bit of attitude, Ollie was an incredibly loving and cuddly member of our family. There was no place he’d rather be than nestled in the crook of our legs while we relaxed.

We hold countless treasured memories of Ollie. One particularly unforgettable moment was during a kayaking trip on the river in our backyard with Madelyn. In his valiant and slightly misguided attempt to "rescue" me, Ollie took it upon himself to jump in, convinced I was in distress. It was quite the challenge, and a testament to his loyal and protective nature, to get our furry hero safely back onto the dock.

We welcomed Ollie into our lives when he was about a year old, having found him through a kind soul on Craigslist in Milwaukee. They recognized that this energetic pup needed more space to run and play, and we were so fortunate to provide that for him. Ollie thrived with room to roam and explore, becoming an integral part of our family.

For Todd, Ollie was more than just a pet; he was a devoted bird hunting buddy. Their adventures together created a special bond and memories that will be forever cherished.

Ollie’s unique personality, his loving cuddles, and even his occasional stubbornness will be deeply missed. He leaves a paw-shaped hole in our hearts that will never quite be filled. We are so grateful for the 10 wonderful years he shared with us, filling our lives with laughter, love, and the occasional dramatic rescue attempt.
